Adventure Activities with us

Himachal offers the best adventure activities for the adventure lovers. It has rivers, lakes, forests, alpine meadows, treacherous passes, snow-peaked high mountains, spread-out valleys, simply ideal for a wide variety of adventure sports. Be it fishing for the mahseer, heli-skiing at sub-zero temperatures, ice-skating at a touristy hillstation, teeing off in salubrious surroundings, feeling free as a bird on a glider, or simply cherishing the joy of camping on a meadow next to a stream – the outdoors person will not be found wanting in Himachal Pradesh. No special training is required for most activities, age is no consideration, all you need is a reasonable level of fitness. Equipment, training and instructors are available. And then, all this comes at a fraction of what it would cost elsewhere in the world.

Paragliding

Soar into the skies and fly with the eagles, riding the winds, savoring that exhilarating sensation called freedom

Sheltered by the mountains and surrounded by tea gardens, Bir a small village with a Tibetan Colony and monasteries in Kangra district, Himachal Pradesh; serves as a landing ground and a base for Hang and Para gliders.Paragliding is one of the most amazing and highly enthralling adventure activities. We all nourish a dream to grow wings and conquer the sky. Paragliding fulfills that lifelong dream. It’s a highly rewarding experience. If you are interested in soaring high in the sky and enjoy the untouched scenic locations, verdant landscapes, mountains, and more from above, Billing is the destination to visit. The aerial view of the Chamba and Kangra valleys is simply breathtaking.

You take off from a little verdant meadow at billing (2600 m). The meadow is considered to be one of the wonders of the nature. It has been naturally designed as a launching pad, and is perfect for a perfect take off. The meadow is above the villages of Bir and Chaugan. Bir is the landing ground for the Para gliders who take off from Billing. It is located at a distance of around 15 km from Billing.

Rappelling

The climbers native action of free fall is a drop where the rope hangs free, not touching rocks or walls. But rappelling is a much safer adventure sport than mountain climbing and anyone with usual strength can participate in this activity. This sport is without any danger and upper body strength is not necessary to enjoy this sport.

Climbing and rappelling provides an amateur basic knowledge of the sport and will permit an initial, supervised experience. A unique and exhilarating way to experience and if you can walk you can rappel too.

Rock-Climbing

It is not quite easy to define rock climbing, but it is not difficult too. Anyone who claims to be a rock climber has his own version of the game. Rock climbing is often seen as the basic stage for mountain climbing. It can also be treated as an independent sport, since it is basically climbing a rock face, using only hands and feet with a safety rope.

The surrounding hillsides of Kangra district offer numerous rock faces for exciting rock climbing and rappelling. Rocks with steep inclines exist both north and south of the town, and are easily accessible.

Water Sports

A regional water sports center has been established in the Pong dam reservoir which offers focused activities such as canoeing, rowing, sailing, and water skiing, apart from swimming. Training programmes are organized in water safety and rescue measures with three tier water sports courses - the basic course, intermediate course and advanced course.

Modern infrastructure facilities have been created with a 75 bed hostel and a 10 suit rest house. It is said to be the only centre of its type in the country.
